Could you tell us a little bit more about yourself and what made you start the business?

Revive Innovations is a sustainably aligned start-up located in Bristol, UK. Our aim is to create innovative and beautiful materials and products by recycling waste in unique ways.

Revive Innovations was founded by 23-year-old designer and UK Young Innovator Kieran Devlin. He invented and developed the RE-CD design process during an experimental design project at university and has since won multiple awards and displayed his work at London Design Festival.

 

 

What gave you the courage to start up your own business and what advice would you give to anyone thinking about doing the same?

Throughout this business adventure, I have been driven by a passion for our environment and a desire to educate through my work. 

 

 

What process do you go through when creating new pieces?

​

Sustainability and problem solving is at the core of all of our projects, RE-CD started with the analysis of today's society, observing what is currently becoming waste and researching how we are prepared to deal with this. Our design challenges consumer attitudes to a recycled product, we prove that they can be as functional and beautiful as ones made from virgin materials.

 

 

Where do you look for inspiration?

I am born and bred in the countryside, so definitely look to natural beauty for inspiration. People often mention that the reflectivity within our RE-CD material has a pearlescent quality.

What are your future plans for developing your business?

​

We are assembling a team of environmental & design enthusiasts to continue research and development of both more products and materials. We have ambitious sustainability goals and aim to have a real impact on our local community.

 

 

A little story or an anecdote you would like to share?

​

I really hope to inspire people to explore and find enjoyment and beauty in the recycling process, this project started in a saucepan in my flat kitchen so it is accessible to anyone!
